Diarado
One of the most influential Holsteiner stallions of his generation: sire of Olympic eventing champions and international show jumpers. Here you will find his profile and every horse from our breeding that carries Diarado blood.
Pedigree and performance
Diarado was bred in 2005 by Klaus Thingholm Kristensen and comes from the Holsteiner damline 318D2. He is by Diamant de Semilly, out of a full sister to the licensed stallion Crawford by Corrado I. In 2007 he was champion of the Holsteiner licensing in Neumünster, with a 10.0 for free jumping, and in 2008 he won his stallion performance test in Schlieckau with an overall index of 150.57 (jumping 144.01). Under saddle he finished third in the Bundeschampionat final for five-year-old show jumpers and later placed in S*** grand prix classes.
Diarado as a sire
With more than 100 licensed sons, Diarado has shaped sport horse breeding far beyond Holstein. He has repeatedly topped the WBFSH world ranking of eventing sires and is among the leading show jumping sires. His best-known offspring include JL Dublin, European eventing champion in 2021 with Nicola Wilson and Olympic team gold medallist in Paris 2024 with Tom McEwen, and Don Diarado, who has represented Germany at championships with Maurice Tebbel.
What Diarado passes on
Diarado offspring are known for their rideability, very good basic gaits and a clear talent for show jumping and eventing. In our breeding we use him on mares that bring size and frame.
