Pedigree and performance

Cassini I was born on 1 April 1988 and bred by Johann Hermann Claussen in Neuenkirchen. He is by Capitol I out of a Caletto II mare, with Mahmud as granddam sire. As a nine-year-old he won the Nations Cup in Helsinki with the Danish team under Bo Kristoffersen; under Franke Sloothaak he won the Grands Prix of Modena and Arnhem and the Nations Cups in Aachen and Modena.

Cassini I as a sire

His offspring made history at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen: Cumano became individual world champion with Jos Lansink, and Berlin won team gold with Gerco Schröder. Cassini I is one of the stallions that shaped modern Holsteiner jumping blood.
